Kansas City v Houston
Time Commentary
90+' Final - Houston 1, Kansas City 0
Houston wins 1-0 as Kei Kamara scores in the 18th minute and the Dynamo's defense makes sure it holds up. The Dynamo have a league-high 31 points now. The Wizards have to feel deflated after doing most of the hard work and putting on loads of pressure in the second half. Kansas City had plenty of chances over the last 15 minutes, and probably deserved a equalizer. That's all from Kansas City, thanks for following along.
90+' Lopez's free kick goes wide
The crowd thought it went in, but Claudio Lopez's free kick goes wide, and this one should be over soon.
90+' Wolff taken down by Houston in front of the area

87' Time running down
It is all hands on deck now for KC as time is running down. Houston is defending desperately.
84' Wolff hits the crossbar!!!
Kansas City should be tied now. Jack Jewsbury sent in a perfect cross to Josh Wolff, who sends in a header that beats Pat Onstad but hits the underside of the crossbar. Houston eventually clears it away, then breathes a sigh of relief.
82' Kamara down for Houston
Dynamo striker Kei Kamara is down after he gets hit hard by KC defender Rauwshan McKenzie. He is back up now.
81' Rare counter by Houston
Corey Ashe used his left foot to float in a cross that found Kei Kamara, but the goal scorer was defended well at the far post and headed it harmlessly over the end line for a goal kick. It's a rare foray upfield for Houston.
80' Lopez floats in a cross
There is more pressure from KC as Claudio Lopez's cross from the left side is cleared away. Will the Wizards make another change since Abe thompson has given them a major boost?
77' Thompson nearly ties it
Substitute Abe Thompson takes a crack at the goal from the right side and it goes wide at the far post. Credit KC midfielder Lance Watson for getting Thompson in behind the defense.
74' Second sub for KC
Michael Kraus enters for Herculez Gomez, and Kraus's first touch nearely finds the back of the net as his header off a corner kick glances off behind him at the far post.
73' Boswell and Cameron holding up
Central defenders Bobby Boswell and Geoff Cameron are holding up under intense pressure by Kansas City. Meanwhile, KC striker Herculez Gomez goes down after a hard elbow by Mike Chabala. Gomez is upset after he gets up since there is no caution on Chabala.

67' Substitution Houston
Houston makes its first change as Ade Akinbiyi comes in for Dominic Oduro, who was simply outstanding. It's a forward for a forward.
67' KC piling on the pressure
Josh Wolff continues to shine for Kansas City, but his header on the last sequence was floated towards Abe Thompson, and found Houston goalkeeper Pat Onstad instead. Still, the Wizards are looking better as time keeps on ticking.
63' Jewsbury's flick finds nobody
Jack Jewsbury flicked in a nice header off a KC corner kick, but it didn't find a teammate as Houston holds onto this tenuous lead.
61' Substitution Kansas City
It's the first sub of the match as forward Abe Thompson enters for defender Michael Harrington. KC coach Curt Onolfo wants an equalizer badly.
60' Gomez goes down, but why?
Herculez Gomez goes down for apparently no reason as Kei Kamara was pressuring him in Kansas City's end of the field. Thankfully, Hilario Grajeda didn't fall for the act.

53' Houston wants handball in the box
The Dynamo want a handball on KC defender Michael Harrington after he used his body to block a ball that was sent in from the top of the area. It looks like a good no-call on the replay. Moments later, Brad Davis whistles a shot over the crossbar for the Dynamo.

Houston defender Bobby Boswell is booked for pulling the shorts of Josh Wolff after Wolff got by him with a nice turn.
48' Hartman stops an onrushing Oduro
Dominic Oduro used a nice move to get around Rauwshan McKenzie and moved in on Kevin Hartman, but the Kansas City goalkeeper stayed his ground and Oduro's point-blank attempt hit Hartman in the chest. What a save by Hartman, but Mckenzie's defending is really sticking out as a problem for the hosts.
46' Second half underway
We are underway in the second half here in Kansas City.
45+' Halftime - Houston 1, Kansas City 0
Houston leads 1-0 on Kei Kamara's goal in the 18th minute that will be remembered for his Michael Jackson celebration of putting on a white glove. It's a tough one for Kansas City, which has dominated the possession and the field position. Let's see if the Wizards can stick with it or if they will make some changes for the second half.

Mike Chabala draws a caution for Houston as stoppage time is nearly over.

36' Lopez fails on two corner kicks
KC star Claudio Lopez had two corner kicks, but failed to get either of them over Houston's first defender. he is getting ready to take another one.
33' Dynamo organized in the back
After that initial onslaught, Houston is much more organized in the back now and wise to Kansas City's tactics. The Dynamo have done a nice job of limiting Claudio Lopez's touches over the last 10 minutes.
29' Grajeda taking charge
There has been a lot of sniping from both teams early and referee Hilario Grajeda tells both to cool it.
27' Hohlbein clears a dangerous corner
Houston put in a quality corner kick, but Wizards defender Aaron Hohlbein snuffed out the danger with an emphatic header to clear the ball. The Wizards have to get their attack going since it was really humming before.
25' Goal has enlivened Houston's attack
The Dynamo are playing better now that they have scored. They see Rauwshan McKenzie as a liability in the Wizards' defense, and are going after him.
22' McKenzie nearly makes amends
Houston midfielder Corey Ashe's handball led to Claudio Lopez's free kick from the right side. Lopez found an open Rauwshan McKenzie, who sent his header wide of Pat Onstad's net. That should have tied the match!
19' Michael Jackson celebration
Kei Kamara did a little tribute to Michael Jackson after he scored, pulling out a white glove and putting it on. Kamara victimized Rauwshan McKenzie, the defender making his first MLS start.
19' Goal - Houston!!!
Well KC has been dominant, but Houston has the lead. Kei Kamara powers home a header from defender Mike Chabala's cross from the left side to give the Dynamo the 1-0 lead! It's a harsh reality for the Wizards to be behind.
17' Nice run by Wolff

Kansas City star Herculez Gomez used a nice flick to get past Houston defender Bobby Boswell on the right side and sent in a perfect cross, but two sliding Wizards could not reach it as Houston averted the danger.

Houston forward Dominic Oduro just came in on another hard challenge, this one on Santiago Hirsig. Oduro is very excited in the early going.
5' McKenzie gets rude welcome
Welcome to MLS, Rauwshan McKenzie. He was just spiked hard by Houston forward Dominic Oduro. This is McKenzie's first career start.
3' Wolff misses early chance
Josh Wolff just missed a header from point-blank range. KC forward Herculez Gomez was on the right side and flicked in a no-look pass in front of Houston's goal, and it found Wollf, who wishes he could have at least hit the target.
1' Game underway from KC
We are underway on a beautiful night here in the heartland. Kevin Hartman is in goal for Kansas City, and Pat Onstad is the goalkeeper for Houston. Kansas City is moving from left to right.
1' Holden in lineup ... for US team
Congratulations to Houston's Stuart Holden, who is starting for the U.S. against Grenada tonight. Kansas City's Davy Arnaud is listed as a substitute for that match. Back here in MLS, we are minutes away from kickoff.
1' Houston enters off a rare loss, can KC solve the Dynamo?
Houston saw its franchise-record 11-match unbeaten run end last week in a 1-0 loss at Los Angeles. The Wizards haven't played an MLS match since a 3-1 win over New England on June 13. Kansas City is 0-4-2 versus the Dynamo, including a playoff loss in 2007, since winning the clubs' first meeting 2-1 on April 8, 2006.
1' Stars missing for both teams
Houston's Brian Ching and Stuart Holden are out since they are with the U.S. national team for the CONCACAF Gold Cup. That's the same reason Davy Arnaud and Jimmy Conrad are out for Kansas City. Michael Harrington is in as a defender for the Wizards while Dominic Oduro gets the start over Ching for the Dynamo. Hilario Grajeda is your match referee.
1' Greetings from CommunityAmerica Ballpark!
