| Hill was one of the most improved players in college basketball this past season, averaging 18.3 points and 11.0 rebounds as a junior before declaring for the draft. His 20 double-doubles ranked him eighth in the country, and he finished with the fifth-highest field-goal percentage in school history at 57.8. Hill has the perfect size and strength to play power forward in the NBA and demonstrated steady improvement throughout the course of his college career. Over his three years at Arizona, Hill added plenty of muscle while still retaining his quickness to maneuver inside. He already possesses a variety of NBA-caliber post moves and has comfortably extended his shooting range to around 15 feet. His foul shooting remains a major weakness, with a career 63.6 percentage from the line. Where Hill sets himself apart is with a relentless effort on the glass. He knows how to position himself and effectively box out players he is defending. With his increased production, however, came signs of some bad habits this season. Hill was guilty of turnovers when he wasn't aware of guards doubling down to strip him of the ball. He has also turned in some subpar spells in which he chose not to finish strong around the basket instead of sticking with his power game. A positive is that Hill is working out in Chicago with famed NBA workout guru Tim Grover to prepare for the draft. Hill is a likely lottery pick, although there are questions about whether he still has major upside or has already reached his potential. |
