Scouting Report
Although the Demon Deacons dropped seven of their final 15 games and lost in the opening round of the NCAA tournament after starting last season 16-0, Johnson's sophomore campaign was a major success. Johnson was second on Wake Forest with 15.0 points per game, and he averaged a team-best 8.5 rebounds as he was named to his second straight third-team All-ACC team. Johnson's scoring went up just .4 per game from his freshman season, but he shot 54.2 percent from the floor last season compared to 48.7 percent in 2007-08. The 22-year-old's turnovers were down .2 per game to 2.4 his sophomore season while his assists improved from 1.2 to 2.0. Johnson won't hesitate taking a 3-pointer, but he needs to improve on his accuracy - he made just 29.6 percent from long distance in two seasons in Winston-Salem. Johnson has a nose for the basketball - he led the Demon Deacons with 48 blocks last season and trailed only Jeff Teague for the team lead in steals. Johnson possesses the size and talent to play either forward position at the next level, and with multiple world karate championships on his impressive resume, no need to worry if he's going to be intimidated or overwhelmed by anyone in the NBA.
